This epiphytic or lithophytic orchid grows in rainforest generally over or
near creeks. It has small flowers, easily overlooked as can be seen
from this specimen in full flower.
Bulbophyllum schillerianum has fleshy succulent leaves to about
10cm long on a creeping rhizome. The flowers are only about 6mm
long, not opening widely and are an orange red. |
