This deciduous terrestrial orchid grows in protected areas of open eucalypt
forests. It is often locally common and generally occurs in groups. The
veined leaf grows to about 30mm diameter and grows just above the leaf
litter. The 12mm flower occurs on a short stem and is greyish and
dark maroon. The labellum has long marginal fimbriations with a round
central raised area which has no hairs and indistinct greyish markings.
Corybas fimbriatus is similar to Corybas hispidus but can
be differentiated by the bristly raised centre to the labellum of C.
hispidus which has a distinct V shaped notch at the rear of the
labellum.
