This common epiphytic or lithophytic orchid grows in rainforest or damp
forests around Brisbane. It typically grows in hollow limbs or tree
stumps, but is often found growing on the ground.
The grass like leaves grow to 90cm by 4cm from the large pseudobulbs.
The flower stems grow to 80cm with up to 70 flowers about 25mm
across.
The only similar orchid is Cymbidium suave
which can be easily distinguished by its lack of pseudobulbs. |
