This common epiphyte or lithophyte grows in large clumps on trees in
rainforests and rainforest verges and rocks in open forests.
The pseudobulbs grow to 10cm by 30mm with usually one but sometimes two
apical leaves 12cm by 3cm.
The flower stem grows to 20cm with up to 20 drooping flowers. The
cupped yellow flowers are 8mm across with a waxy texture.
This distinctive species can easily be identified by its creeping
habit, usually single apical leaf and small cupped yellow flowers. There
is no other species which could be confused with this orchid. |
