Peristeranthus hilliiThis epiphyte grows in the moist open forests around Brisbane. When in flower, this orchid can be very spectacular due to the number of flowers. Peristeranthus hillii grows a stem to about 30cm with numerous stiff leaves to 25cm x 4 cm which distinctively droop at the end. The racemes grow to 30cm long holding up to 80 flower about 7mm across. The flowers are yellow green with crimson spots and have a sickly sweet fragrance. There is no other similar orchid in Brisbane to this distinct orchid.
