This terrestrial orchid grows in dry open granite forests. The rosette has
shrivelled when this orchid flowers. The flower stem is to 45cm with up to
6 flowers opening sequentially. The flower is semitransparent with green
or brown markings. The galea is tipped with an upward facing filament to
25mm long. The lateral sepals are tipped with a pendulous filament to
150mm long.
This species is unmistakable in flower and can be readily identified by the
long filaments on the tips of the lateral sepals. |
