This deciduous terrestrial grows in heathland and
open forest. Thelemitra flowers will only open on fine hot days and
remain closed during cloudy or cool days and at night.
The leaf is to grass like to 20cm with flower stem to
50cm with to 20 flowers 20mm across. The flower is blue
with a white to bluish column topped with yellow. The column arms are tipped with white tufts of dense
hairs.
Thelymitra pauciflora can be identified by the column shape. Thelemitra are

with orchid books to be able to identify the orchids of this genus. |
