TAPS Orchid of the Year Criteria
The prize for TAPS Orchid of the Year is $100 and a certificate.
Entries are open to any Cypripediodiae tribe plant owned by a financial TAPS member that was:
• A TAPS monthly meeting Judges' Best Exhibit between January and December inclusive - Automatically entered (TAPS will hold photographic records of these as a matter of course)
• Nominated by a TAPS members where the orchid was judged a section champion or higher level prize at an orchid show judged by an Australian Orchid Council or Queensland Orchid Society judging panel, or interstate equivalent - Nominations to be accompanied with proof of the prize and suitable photographic depictions (i.e. for single-flowered entries - front, back and side; and for multi-flowered entries - a whole of inflorescence display and a close-up front of a single flower).
A plant entered must have been owned and grown by the member for at least six months prior to its judging event. The number of entries are unlimited and free.
The prize for TAPS Novice Orchid of the Year is $100 and a certificate.
• A TAPS monthly meeting Judges' Best Novice Exhibit between January and December inclusive - Automatically entered (TAPS will hold photographic records of these as a matter of course)
All judging will be by the Southern Regional Judging Panel Judges, accredited by the Australian Orchid Council from available photographic records. The results will be announced at the April TAPS Monthly Meeting.
Nominations for TAPS Orchid of the Year to be in the hands of the TAPS Secretary by 31 January. Late entries will not be accepted.
